Taking note

Hartsock, R. (1994). Notes for music catalogers: Examples illustrating AACR2 in the online bibliographic record. Soldier Creek Music Series, no. 3. Soldier Creek Press: Lake Crystal, MN.

Hartsock has compiled an exhaustive list of bibliographic records which display useful examples of notes in the records, giving some accurate precedence on which to build a formalized representation in a catalog. Though there isn’t much in the way of explanation surrounding the examples, it is helpful to at least see what has been done by the Library of Congress so that subsequent records by other cataloging agencies can match the same standard.
