As I begin my second internship in IU SLIS, I find that there is a lot more literature on the subject than even I was expecting. I knew that I would be starting with a list of readings, and I expected that I would have to do a lot of reviewing of things I had already read but had since forgotten (AACR2r, to be specific) as well as a lot of reading that I probably should have before this point, but I was overwhelmed with the amount of information available and necessary for successful music cataloging. I have been working in other areas of music cataloging, but mostly going by habit and following the basic process set out for me by my superiors. But a lot of what I did, I did because that is what I was told to do, not because I knew why or how. So a lot of what I was reading was opening my eyes to a lot if information that was relevant to what I had been doing for quite some time now.

So, I embark on a reading journey…I only hope I can remember where I have been!
